Muscle Activation, also known as applied kinesiology, is a form of superficial reflex stimulation that excites a muscle’s motor neurons to increase strength and stabilization of a joint. Superficial reflex points on the head and body are stimulated by the therapist if PRT does not bring back the strength of the muscle, which will typically occur within one to three treatments.
Physical therapists’ and other clinicians provide patients home, aquatic and in-clinic therapy for both pre and post-surgical conditions as well as for acute and chronic injuries. Running Form Analysis
High speed cameras with a digital biomechanical software system is utilized to analyze a runner’s gait / form from 4 angles to determine how best to optimize their form for either injury care, prevention or to improve their running economy / efficiency. Center of balance, foot strike position, stride rate, elbow position and pre-swing position, dynamic knee valgus, are just a few metrics analyzed during the analysis. Based on the analysis, runners are provided recommendations on how best to refine their running gait / form for optimal performance.
Custom is key with custom orthotics. Our custom orthotics are individually prescribed based on high-speed 3D video analysis of your gait and CAD casting of your feet to ensure an accurate prescription to meet your biomechanical needs and to also ensure a perfect match to the contours of your feet. Custom orthotics can lift an arch, relieve heel pain, and/or help compensate for joint deformities, such as a leg length discrepancy.
Through the use of high speed cameras, individuals are taught through verbal and visual feedback to alter their gait to either optimize their walking or running form or to limit abnormal force on areas injured or prone to injury. Common conditions that often require gait retraining are shin splints, exertional compartment syndrome, Achilles Tendinitis, Patellar tendinitis, hip pain, and low back pain.
